Eurovision Song Contest

Marlayne had principally worked as a backing vocalist for singers such as René Froger when, in 1999, her poem "One Good Reason" was chosen by a very broad edge from ten competitors as the Dutch likeness in the 44th Eurovision Song Contest which took locate on 29 May in Jerusalem. "One Good Reason" was a very contemporary poem, and the leading Dutch entrance to be sung in English since 1976 (following the abolition of the national address regulation for the 1999 contest). In the despatch up to the contest, "One Good Reason" had been considered one of the favourites for conquest, so its eighth-locate complete of the 23 entries, while worthy, was seen as somewhat disappointing.

Marlayne kept up her Eurovision joining as the spokesperson announcing the Dutch votes in 2000, 2001 and 2003. She was a limb of the Dutch national jury in 2014.

Later arrangement

Marlayne released her leading, and to date one, album, Meant to Be, in 2001. In 2003 she became a presenter of intelligence and running events advertisement Hart van Nederland on channel SBS 6. She has gone on to existing separate other entertainment shows, notably De Nieuwe Uri Geller, the Dutch rendering of The Successor.

Personal vitality

Marlayne has been married to drummer Danny Sahupala since 1998. She gave descent to her leading child, a daughter, on 2 July 2009.
